Dark indie living city sandbox game

A Place for the Unwilling is an upcoming indie sandbox game set in a living city. Explore a dark, fog filled city uncovering the mystery of an urban landscape which seems to be its own character.

To the streets

After a fairly small scale Kickstarter campaign back in 2016 was successful, A Place for the Unwilling has been in development by a team of indie creators. The game is described as an open world sandbox with elements of Lovecraft design and Zelda style quests. Each day begins anew with a ticking clock, with your tradesman character tasked with finding new possibilities for business while exploring a city which acts as both backdrop and main character. Strange dark shadows litter the streets which can turn into real people if certain tasks are completed. A Place for the Unwilling seems to be based around building wealth alongside horror/steampunk story elements and multiple unique playthroughs. Currently, the game looks wonderful with a dark and gloomy appearance but everything is subject to change.

Promising future

A Place for the Unwilling appears to be an interesting sandbox game with a certain visual charm. The overall level of gameplay polish is still in the hands of the developers, however.
